brooksville train depot
The 1885 Train Depot Museum is located at 70 Russell St. Brooksville FL, 34601, between S. Main St. and S. Brooksville Ave. On the Main St corner is the Russell St. Park, complete with picnic tables and walking path. Behind the museum is the Florida Good Neighbor Bike Trailhead. Next door is the Countryman Family One Room School House Museum.
The structure is the original depot built on this exact spot in 1885. The Hernando Heritage Museum Association acquired the building in 1991 and turned it into the Train Depot Museum. The association volunteers are dedicated to bringing Train history, Florida and Hernando County history alive for the visitors.
View artifacts from early 1800 Hernando County settlers, industry and the ghost town of Centralia.
